Third party crash submission web service implemented in Tennessee

by jmontalbino on Apr.22, 2010, under NE Crash, Tennessee Collision Reporting

OPS has successfully implemented and deployed the third party XML crash submission web service for the State of Tennessee’s TITAN collision reporting repository.

The web service allows third party vendors to submit crash reports to the TITAN repository using XML formatted data.  The service is real-time and provides instant feedback on the acceptance or denial of the crash data based upon the state’s predefined business edits.

Once a crash report is accepted it is available via the TITAN web portal for querying and viewing.TITAN_Logo

The Tennessee Integrated Traffic Analysis Network (TITAN) was developed for electronic collection, submission, and management of all crash data in Tennessee.  Powered by OPS’s NE Crash, TITAN provides electronic crash reporting to all Tennessee law enforcement agencies.  More than 130 departments utilize the system.

64,168 reports were submitted to the state repository in the 12 month period ending March 31.  A report is considered timely if received within seven days of the collision.

A link is available on the TITAN web site to view or download any participating agency’s performance.
