Overheard at the Traffic Records Forum…

by Dawn Holt on Jul.29, 2010, under Conferences and Events

“I smelled the popcorn all the way out in the hall.  I had to come get some!”

“Aww!  These water bottles are so cute!”

“Is this a trade show booth or a party?  It’s like you’ve got groupies.”

“That was cool that you sent out an email so I knew you were giving away a prize.”

“I’ve been to a lot of these shows, and I’ve never seen one exhibitor DOMINATE like you have.”

“You’re bringing back the popcorn machine next year, right?  RIGHT?!”

“What is GEARS?” video gives brief overview of Georgia’s GEARS.

by Dawn Holt on May.03, 2010, under Georgia Collision Reporting

What is GEARS?

Powered by OPS’ NE Crash, GEARS is an electronic collision reporting system offered to law enforcement in Georgia that features tools that allow officials to complete collision reports more efficiently.  High-quality consistent, accurate and timely collision information can be collected through a wizard-based application that incorporates bar code reading of driver’s licenses, unlimited narrative with spell check, integrated diagramming and point and click mapping.

GEARS is available to all Georgia law enforcement agencies at ZERO COST.  The State of Georgia is saving millions of taxpayer dollars annually by utilizing the system.  The Georgia Department of Transportation engaged OPS to design, implement, and maintain GEARS.
